A clearer path through camera and audio problems.
Start with a short recording at 1080p and 30 fps. Change one setting at a time so you can tell which check helped.
The phone will not connect
- Confirm both devices use the same Wi-Fi. Avoid a guest network that isolates devices.
- Confirm both devices can open roluxlabs.com and that the saved phone link is current.
- Allow camera and microphone permission on the phone. On Windows, use Chrome or Edge.
- If a VPN is active, check whether it blocks access to your local network. Use a trusted network and an appropriate network configuration.
- Reopen the saved phone link. Create a new pairing if it has expired, was replaced, or browser cookies were cleared.
The video stops when I switch apps
Keep the sender camera page visible and the phone unlocked. Mobile browsers can pause capture in the background. The browser website cannot reliably override that restriction. A dedicated native phone companion would be needed for stronger control over capture lifecycle; it is not currently part of the published product.
The microphone is missing or silent
Allow microphone permission and check the audio input selected in the studio. If you use an external phone microphone, connect it before starting capture and check whether the phone browser lists it. Not every accessory is exposed as a selectable browser input. Make a short recording and listen to the saved file.
Video or audio is delayed
Start at 1080p and 30 fps, move closer to your router, and reduce competing Wi-Fi traffic. A 5 GHz or 6 GHz connection can help when supported and the signal is strong. Compare the preview and saved test recording. Capture, encoding, Wi-Fi congestion, decoding, and rendering can each contribute to delay; there is no verified fixed latency guarantee.
Why do controls take time to respond?
The hosted site exchanges pairing and control messages through HTTPS polling. When media is connected, the polling interval is about three seconds. This can delay a remote setting change; it is separate from the direct camera stream.
Does video go through Hostinger?
The hosted service exchanges setup and control messages. Camera and microphone media use a direct WebRTC connection between devices. There is no configured cloud media relay. Recordings save on the laptop. Local Wi-Fi still needs a trusted network and private pairing links.
Can I use it completely offline?
The published browser version needs internet access for website loading and hosted pairing. A local Windows companion is a future architecture option, not an available offline feature.
